Drone safety around Pearson

Did you know that drones are not allowed within three nautical miles — or 5.6 kilometres — of an airport? When flying a drone it’s important to be aware of rules under the Canadian Aviation Regulations, set by Transport Canada.

The safety of our passengers and employees is our number one priority, and if a drone is spotted near the airport, we will work with our partners at NAV Canada and Peel Regional Police, who will respond and investigate.

For any drone flights that would be operating within this limit, approval is required from NAV Canada.

More information on how to safely fly a drone is available through Transport Canada.
