National AccessAbility Week 2023

This week (May 28 - June 3) marks National AccessAbility Week, when we spotlight the contributions of those of us with disabilities and share the importance of creating spaces that are inclusive, accessible and welcoming to all.

We're on a mission to build an industry-leading airport that is renowned for the services it provides passengers of all abilities. At Toronto Pearson, each of us plays a role in assuring that every passenger feels welcome.

We offer numerous accessibility services and amenities to ensure passengers with disabilities can travel with greater independence at the airport, including:

  • Aira assistive technology for passengers who are blind or partially sighted.
  • Hearing Loops sound systems that work by reducing unwanted background noise in hearing aids or Cochlear implants.
  • LanguageLine, a live language translation for people who have hearing problems, use sign language or know limited English.
  • Sunflower Lanyard Program for passengers with invisible disabilities who would like a discreet way to communicate they may need extra help or time while travelling through Pearson.
  • MagnusCards to help autistic and neurodiverse people better navigate common airport processes through step-by-step mobile app guides.
  • Charging stations for electric wheelchairs and mobility devices in Terminals 1 and 3.
