Cities like Toronto and New York are world famous for their diversity, including their thriving LGBT communities. You’ve seen their Pride festivals: important gatherings that highlight differences, and massive celebrations that spread joy everywhere. But Pride knows no borders, and there are many beautiful cities across the globe with parades and parties worth visiting. Here are four different summer Pride celebrations in four different cities that you should visit.
Fly to Guadalajara with Flair
If you want to attend a party, you’d be hard-pressed to find a better place than Mexico. You can’t walk 10 paces without coming upon live music, a parade, a fine beverage or something tasty to munch on. Guadalajara, in particular, is famous as a capital for culture and diversity. Its festival’s slogan: “My body is freedom. My identity is true. My pride is resistance.”
Starts June 14
Take off to Lisbon with TAP
Since the early ’90s, EuroPride has united the continent’s queer community and its allies. Lisbon’s edition promises to be one of the biggest celebrations yet. There will be concerts, art exhibitions and conferences, all of it happening right on the ocean shore.
Starts June 14
Experience São Paulo with Air Canada
São Paulo’s vibrant Pride parade stretches more than a mile through the city’s financial district. Last year’s turnout alone was more than three million people. In a place known for its street partying and alegria de viver, expect green-and-yellow-bikinis, some of the best drag queens, and a jumbo, unsinkable rainbow flag flying along the route.
Starts June 20
Keep it cool in Amsterdam with KLM
Speaking of which, Amsterdam will host the 2026 version of EuroPride. Its own edition this year, which actually takes place in July and August, looks to be a blast, because the spirit of fun remains. Its globally-beloved Canal Parade (singing and dancing on boats, need we say more?) takes place August 2. And who knows, you might have such a fabulous time that you’ll want to go back next year for the big show.
Starts July 26
