People of Pearson: Ashley

“My name is Ashley and I am a Coordinator at the Pass Permit Control Office (PPCO) with the Greater Toronto Airports Authority (GTAA). I’m dedicated to both my work and education. I joined the GTAA in August 2022 and I'm currently a part-time student completing my MBA at Toronto Metropolitan University.

“My role consists of processing all types of employee passes, and working with my manager to make sure the Pass Office runs smoothly and efficiently in serving our employees. My job allows me to meet all kinds of people at the airport! I enjoy meeting new people every day and creating a positive connection to make the airport a great place to work, and this job has allowed me to connect with the airport community, helping me realize that the smallest tasks can make a real difference in people's lives.

“With the different processes at the PPCO, whether it is a new applicant, a renewal, or an employee getting their full clearance pass, I strive to make every employee's experience a positive one. The pass office is the first step in working at the airport and it’s rewarding to help employees complete it successfully.

“For some, the pass office can seem a little stressful as there can be a lot to get organized for an appointment, but we strive to educate the community to make the pass office experience as seamless as possible.

“I have always been a people person, so I'm happy to be in a very people-centric role that relies on teamwork for success. Every person working here is a valued contributor to the team. In my short time of working at the GTAA, I already feel well connected, and if you find joy in making someone’s day better and their life a little bit easier, this is the place to be.”
