National Volunteer Week in Canada is from April 18 to 24

National Volunteer Week is a time to collectively celebrate the individual and combined contributions that almost 13 million Canadian volunteers make all year round. At the airport, a sense of community and volunteerism is embedded in so much of what we do.

We would like to take this time to shine a light on the volunteers who enrich our airport and the communities we serve. Whether it’s our Welcome Team, who pre-COVID volunteered their time to ease a passenger’s journey, or the hundreds of community members who gave their time to make events like the Runway Run or the Annual Emergency Exercise a success, we miss you, we thank you, and we hope to see you soon.

We commend our colleagues who are leaders in the community, both inside and outside of the airport. Airport workers lift their communities by volunteering time and expertise with our Propeller Project partners, support neighbours through corporate food and toy drives, and extend this leadership in their own communities, as sports coaches, tree planters, mentors and good neighbours. We are proud of all our team does for the community.

Thank you to our volunteers and Canada’s almost 13 million volunteers who remind us it takes a village to help make good things fly.

Help us celebrate!  Share your volunteer story or give a shout-out to a volunteer that has inspired you using #NationalVolunteerWeek and #NVW2021.
