Toronto Pearson’s Virtual Take Our Kids to Work Day 2022

Calling all parents or guardians of grade 9 students: Our virtual Take Our Kids to Work Day is on November 2, 2022. It showcases the dynamic aviation industry, with a behind the scenes look at Toronto Pearson and provides a broader picture of some of the diverse career opportunities available at the airport.

The program is open to all grade 9 students. To participate, students need a computer or tablet connected to the internet.

To help organize your day, we’ve made the content available ahead of time. Begin the learning on our module.

Suggested schedule for the day:

  • Self-directed Virtual Learning: Choose your own adventure of learning for two and half hours (over three and a half hours of learning available; students can come back any other day to explore other segments)
  • Lunch: One-hour lunch break
  • Parent/Guardian Virtual Job Shadowing: Two hours anytime during the day (this is your opportunity to share what you do at the airport, your career journey and your experience)

The content is self-directed, and your grade 9 student will be allowed to progress at their own pace. The content will continue to be available after November 2 so that students can view anytime.

If your workplace is not participating in organized and sponsored events, you can take advantage of the Toronto Pearson’s virtual program for Take Our Kids to Work day sponsored by the GTAA which is open to all Toronto Pearson employees and partners – there is no onsite job shadow component pre or post security for this virtual program. For more information, read the airport bulletin.

Looking ahead to 2023

In 2023, we look forward to collaborating and engaging with our internal and external airport partners to plan a robust in-person Take Our Kids to Work Day.
