She-Covery Response Program: Building Skills for Work (MNLCT):

This program helps to transition racialized and marginalized women from unemployment or underemployment conditions into labour market opportunities.

If you identify as a woman who has been laid off and/or underemployed, and can benefit from Essentials Skills upskilling, this program is for you! You will be able to re-enter the labour market with enhanced skills that will allow you to take positions of higher responsibility after receiving training.

Three key courses are available for registration:

  1. Intro to Essential Employability Skills
  2. Skills you Need to Know for Workplace Success
  3. Women in Leadership

ReNEW – Tech Reskilling Program (NPower Canada)

A new cohort of this program starts in October 2021, so register now!
Graduates of this program are qualified to work in high-demand jobs like:

  • Junior IT Analyst
  • Help Desk Specialist

  • Customer Care Agent
  • Project Analyst
  • Junior Systems Administrator

Note: you need to be 31 years or older to qualify to enter along with other requirements.

Personal Finance Essentials (McGill University – Free): 

If you're ready to take charge of your personal finances, then you're in the right place. From budgeting to borrowing, real estate and beyond, invest a few hours in this free, online course and you'll gain the knowledge and confidence to make a lifetime of smart financial decisions. Taught by professors from McGill University's Desautels Faculty of Management, the course is open to everyone. Register on their website

PIVOT Program for Hospitality Workers (Hospitality Workers Training Centre)

This is a free 2-week program open to any job seekers who are currently ready, willing and able to work. You will gain knowledge about the current job market and develop strategies to find work. PIVOT Core Programming includes on-line instructor led training sessions, independent activities and one-on-one coaching. Learnings will include:

With PIVOT you will benefit from working with our Job Coach to develop a job search strategy and action plan. Upon completion of PIVOT Core Program, you have the opportunity to earn Smart Serve and or Food Handlers certifications. Find out more about dates and eligibility.
